In this retreat we come together to reconnect with refuge in our sangha and practice calling in love and wisdom as liberating forces for healing and awakening. This will be an all gender retreat space.
What to expect on Retreat
Vipassana meditation (also known as insight meditation) has been practiced in Asia for over 2,600 years. Retreatants are invited to spend the retreat in silent meditation practice with alternating periods of sitting and walking meditation. The retreat will also include guided movement, Dharma talks, group sharing and individual interviews. This retreat is open to beginners and experienced students. Orientation and instructions in meditation will be provided for beginners.

Tradition of Dana
Your registration cost covers food and lodging only. According to the ancient tradition of dana those who carry on the teachings of the Buddha are supported through the generosity of the community; thus dana to support Arinna's teachings may be offered at the conclusion of the retreat.

There are triple, double, and single person rooms with shared bathrooms in the retreat house and one room has six beds. Meals will be vegetarian.
Facility Accessibility
Saint Andrews Lodge has two fully accessible bedrooms, and the dining and retreat areas are in the same building and wheelchair accessible - on the first level. Path from parking lot to lodge is accessible as are some portions of the outdoor pathways. The site is sloping, but ramped. There are two disability parking spots. Please contact us for any accommodations needed by the registration deadline.
Covid protocols
This retreat will be held in one building, with sleeping accommodations in one to six person rooms. It is therefore important that everyone try to arrive healthy and test for COVID daily during the retreat. We will be following the COVID protocols of Dhamma Dena retreat center, which include masking, vaccination and COVID testing prior to and during the retreat. More about Arinna
Arinna Weisman has studied insight meditation since 1979 and has been teaching since 1989. Her root teacher is Ruth Denison who was empowered by the great teacher U Bha Khin. She was the founding teacher of Insight Meditation Center of the Pioneer Valley. She is co-author of the book, A Beginner’s Guide to Insight Meditation and a contributor to Women Practicing Buddhism; American Experiences, edited by P. Gregory and S. Mrozik. Her dharma practice and teaching have been infused with her political and environmental activism. She was the first out queer teacher with Eric Kolvig to lead insight meditation retreats for the LGBTQ community. She also leads ‘Uncovering the Heart Retreats’ integrating the practice of awareness of the social dynamics of inequity with the dharma practice of liberation.
